Donald Pepper recently featured in Bloomberg Opinion, where his comments on the evolution of event-driven investing and merger arbitrage strategies were highlighted.

The article examines the growing role of large multi-manager hedge funds in financial markets and discusses whether certain investment strategies are better suited to independent firms than to large “pod shop” platforms.

Drawing on comments previously made to Bloomberg News, Donald noted that while some strategies fit naturally within multi-manager structures, merger arbitrage can be more challenging to manage in that environment due to its inherent volatility and longer investment horizons.

The piece explores how event-driven managers have increasingly sought flexibility outside large platforms, particularly as M&A activity has begun to recover and opportunities in merger arbitrage have expanded.
