Shenan Dhanani recently participated in a panel discussion at the Hedgeweek European Summit 2026, examining the challenges and opportunities surrounding talent management within the hedge fund industry.
As part of the panel, Winning the War for Talent, Shenan joined industry participants to discuss competition for investment professionals, changing hiring requirements across investment and technology functions, and approaches to talent retention in an evolving market environment. The discussion also covered the increasing demand for data scientists and technology specialists, as well as the role of culture, autonomy and career development in attracting and retaining talent.
Drawing on Trium’s experience, Shenan discussed the importance of combining different skill sets across portfolio management, data science and technology to support investment outcomes. He also highlighted how investment firms are adapting their structures and operating models to meet the changing needs of both employees and clients.
The panel further explored broader industry trends, including competition from large multi-manager platforms, the growth of specialised investment teams and the evolving role of technology within investment organisations.
